Ode to my old foster dog Jamamma

We kept a pug for almost 3 years for the kentucky pug rescue. She had alot of physical problems, when we first got her she only weighed 9 lbs. she had ear mites, worms 4 abcessed teeth phenomia as well as alot of other physical problems. The vet told me he didnt know if she would make it or not. But with alot of attention and lots and lots of love she now weighed 18 lbs and was pretty healthy except she had COPD. for which she took meds for.
At firat my husband wasn't very happy about keeping her but she grew on him quickly. My brother Michael passed away from cancer a year ago had taken up with her and loved her every step, even on his death bed he wanted to put her in the bed with him. He would say "I love you "to her and she would bark three times as if to say I love you.
In all the time we had her no one was ever intrested in her due to her physical problems but we loved her so much.
Then the dredded phone call..someone wanted to adopt her this person of which I must say was very kind and seemed to love her so much at first sight, wanted to pay for her. He had a dog that passed away and now he was ready to adopt another dog from the rescue. He saw her picture and said it was love at first sight.
I talked to him for awhile them had to meet him in cadiz to surrender Jamamma to him. I cried all the way back but in my heart I had a really good feeling that he was gonnna take good care of her. she would be going to work with him daily and to the doggy spa monthy, she had her own bed and would be part of a theater group in Paducah, you see he was in this group and everyone brought their dogs to every practice and they had a seat in the back row at each preformance.
So here is a praise for the people that adopt abused dogs and take great care of them. He has promised pictures often and anytime visits if I wanted.
These rescues spend alot of time and money to keep our little darlins safe and healthy. Jamamma has cost them a bundle.so thanks Steve for giving her a wonderful forever hope and Mike and I look forward to fostering yet another pug that im sure will take our hearts too.
